PATRON INTEGRATED MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
Dr. RS Chauhan (Born on 05th July 1955) is born in the family of Freedom Fighters. Where his father and uncle (Tauji) had been associated with QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT OF Mahatama Gandhi. He is the youngest among his siblings. He left home at the age 19 years to pursue his career in Ayurveda, and that is when he got enrolled in formal Ayurvedic education (B.A.M.S). He completed his Graduation from Delhi in 1979.
Social Career
1977-78: President, Akhil Bhartiya Ayurvedic Students Association
Contribution: Started and completed the most important movement in the history of Ayurvedic Education and Employment in India against the below:
In this movement Dr. RS Chauhan started a Non-violent protest (Satyagrah) in front of the residence of then Central Health Minister, Late Shri Rajnarayan Ji for 31 days, wherein he was on Amaran Anshan (Hunger strike) for 96 hours. Post this Late Shri Rajnarayan Ji supported the movement and Central government officially agreed to both the above demands. But health being a state subject had to be approved by state governments across India as well. Post this Dr. RS Chauhan approached all state government and ran the movement across India for making this happen. During this period he was also being taken in to custody and had spent days in police custody across India. This movement was successful and during his tenure as President, Akhil Bhartiya Ayurvedic Student Association both these demands became a reality and almost 10,000 students got benifitted out of it in those days and lakhs of them in coming years. Also all Ayurvedic Chikitsa Adhikari was given the rank of a Gazetted officer and was given the same scale as Allopathic Medical Officers. This removed the divide between Ayurvedic Chikitsa Adhikari and Allopathic Medical Officers forever. During this period the then Advisor of Ayurveda, Shri PNV Kurup had cooperated in this movement a lot.

Highlights and Contribution:Served as president of AIIMGA for 3 consecutive tenures.
During his tenure as President of AIIMGA, the 01st Souvenir (Annual Magazine for highlighting the key achievements and work done in that year) of AIIMGA was released by the then Prime Minister of INDIA, Late Shri Chandra Shekhar Ji at Bhondsi Farmhouse, Haryana on 31st March 1991.
21/02/1993: AIIMGA under the leadership of Dr. RS Chauhan successfully organized National Conference on ISM&H. Chief guest in this program was then Central Health Minister, Shri Pawan Singh Gatiwar Ji. For getting more focus from the government AIIMGA demanded a separate ministry for ISM&H. Shri Pawan Singh Gatiwar Ji principally accepted this demand and promised take proper initiative in this regard.
02/10/1994 and 02/12/1994: AIIMGA under the leadership of Dr. RS Chauhan successfully ran Pulse Polio drive in association with Dr. Harshvardhan, then Health Minister, Govt. of NCT Delhi.
2001 - 2015: Member, Delhi Bhartiya Chikitsa Parishad (DBCP), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of NCT Delhi
Was nominated by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of NCT Delhi for 3 consecutive tenures.
06/02/2013 - 15/06/2015: Being elected as Chairman, Delhi Bhartiya Chikitsa Parishad (DBCP), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of NCT Delhi

1992: Dhanwantri Award, awarded by then President of India, Late Shri Gyani Zail Singh Ji
1995: Citation for Pulse Polio Drive, awarded by the then Chief Minister of Delhi, Late Shri Madan Lal Khurana Ji and Dr. Harshvardhan for successfully organizing Pulse Polio drive across Delhi.
1997: Pramukh Nagrik Samman, awarded by Delhi Government, at JLN Stadium for his services to the mankind
